The following are some of the most frequently asked questions when looking at Long Term Care Facilities:
Are you a Medicare/Medicaid certified skilled nursing facility?
Yes. We are certified by both Medicare and Medicaid.
How often does the State Department of Health review the facility?
The Department of Health inspects our facility a minimum of once every year. The visits are unannounced and all departments of our facility are inspected and reviewed.
Who does the resident’s laundry?
The facility offers daily laundry services at no additional charge to the resident. Or, if the family prefers, they can do the resident’s laundry at home. We ask the resident’s clothing still be marked though to prevent misplacement in the event it is accidently sent to our laundry facilities.
How much clothing should be provided for each resident?
Closet space is limited so we recommend families alternate clothing with the seasons for their loved ones. Clothing should be comfortable and easy to take on and off. We recommend clothing that can be layered as temperatures throughout the building may vary.
What are the visiting hours?
The Village is open to visitors 24-hours a day. The front door is typically locked at night for security purposes but visitors can ring the doorbell for access or can call ahead and notify the charge nurse of their expected arrival time.
Is a hairdresser available onsite?
Yes, we have a hair salon in our facility. Appointments for your loved one can be made on the clipboard outside the salon door.
How often does the doctor see the resident?
Our medical director visits our facility every week to see any residents who may have medical concerns. A nurse practitioner visits the facility twice a week. The physician and nurse practitioner are both available 24-hours per day.
What other medical services are provided?
We contract with various ancillary service providers including, but not limited to, the following:
- Orthotics and Prosthetics
- X-ray Services
- Respiratory Therapy
Who do I contact with questions regarding billing and insurance?
Our business office manager should be able to help you with most of your questions and concerns.
Who do I see for dietary concerns?
Our Food Services Manager is available to discuss resident preferences and needs with the resident and family. We also have a registered dietician who monitors each resident’s dietary requirements, weight gain/loss, etc. Our speech therapist is available to discuss concerns you may have with a resident’s ability safely swallow.
Who will arrange transportation for residents who have appointments outside of the facility?
The facility will arrange transportation for resident appointments.
May we bring family pets in to visit?
Absolutely. We are a pet-friendly facility and we know how much our four-legged family members mean to us. We encourage pet visits as it is therapeutic for both your resident as well as our other residents. We do ask you to please bring a copy of your pet’s current vaccination shots to the facility and place on file in the Activity Department.
